I'll check out Place Saint Gery / Mappa Mundo tonight, I haven't been down there yet.

Do you have more specifics on Chatelain, as it shows 3 separate locations on google maps across the city.

So you walking distance from Place Saint Gery? Excellent around there in the summer. You should try Mappa Mundo.

I live in St Gilles/Louise. So In ave ¨Parvis market and Chatelain close by.

Chatelain on a weds is better than Place du lux imho. You will be drooling.

Agree Delerium is touristy but the beer is still great.

Maybe Brussels only livens up in the summer months and not in April when it was a ghost city.

Re: Brussels
I thought Delirium was pony.

Went on a Thursday night and other than the 7 of us, there were only about another 20 people in there, all of whom were cunty stduents from Italy.

Only highlight was because I asked for a round of Jagermeister and offered to by the bar staff one each too, the good old European tradition (well. anywhere other than Britain that is) of them giving me an extra free one to do with each of them meant doing 6 of them before leaving the bar.

I say highlight, the stuff tastes disgusting.

Re: Brussels
Swiss,

I am currently living near De Broukere station, just by the EasyHotel. Got myself an apartment.

Love going to Luxembourg Square on a Thursday..... all those EU interns and MEP assistants... yummy.

I don't rate delirium that much, always packed and takes forever to get served. Prefer the two bars just off of where Hard Rock Cafe is... by the kebab street. Lots of tables and chairs out the front.

I like eating around St Catherines, if you could recommend the best seafood place, that would be good.

Off to watch Paul Weller on Monday to buy DB at Beurs.

Sprouts

The posters on here obviously have never been to Delerium Cafe to try the numerous draft Belgian beers at 8.5% alcohol

http://www.deliriumcafe.be/

Or been to Place du Luxembourg on a thurs night or Chatelain on a wednesday night.

Or seen the hot model girls at Jeux D'Hiver

You should be having a BLANCHE, not cocktails, Swiss.

Brussels has excellent beer, chips and chocolate. Fail to see what's wrong about that.

My old law firm had an office in Brussels which I visited a few times.

Lovely people, but completely and utterly dull.

Each to their own, but I found the city boring. I like to drink from breakfast until breakfast the next day and finding places open or lively was impossible.

Well I think you are bull shiting or going to the wrong places. It's pretty rare I meet a Flemish person in Brussels It's French Speaking and very cosmopolitan. More likely to meet Spanish , Italians and Eastern Europeans, Brits and Irish
